Fire Communications Center
The Fire Communications Center is responsible for ensuring efficient communication between Fire, Law Enforcement, and the wider community. FCC dispatches calls, coordinates between police & fire units and ensures smooth radio transmissions in fire radios.
Expectations
- Always be Polite & Respectful
- Wear appropriate uniforms & accessories
- Maintain a professional demeanour at all times
- Abide by all LKFR policies and handbook regulations.
- When getting online as a Fire Dispatcher, ensure the vehicle priority list must be filled out.
When online dispatching, use "!FCCDispatch | Username" in Discord.
You're expected to be online as an FCC Dispatcher for a minimum of 30 minutes per week. This time will count towards your standard LKFR Quota.

Dispatching Priority
When dispatching Station 1, always ensure you dispatch apparatuses from left to right.
EX. The online apparatuses are: E-11, L-11, EMS-11, R-11.
You would dispatch starting with E-11, proceeding to L-11, then next to EMS-11, ending with R-11.
When dispatching Station 2, you'd dispatch from right to left.
EX. The online Station 2 apparatuses are: T-21, E-21, EMS-21.
You would dispatch starting with T-21, proceeding to E-21, and ending with EMS-21.
Dispatching Priority
When dispatching Station 1, always ensure you dispatch apparatuses from left to right.
EX. The online apparatuses are: E-11, L-11, EMS-11, R-11.
You would dispatch starting with E-11, proceeding to L-11, then next to EMS-11, ending with R-11.
When dispatching Station 2, you'd dispatch from right to left.
EX. The online Station 2 apparatuses are: T-21, E-21, EMS-21.
You would dispatch starting with T-21, proceeding to E-21, and ending with EMS-21.
Receiving & Dispatching Calls
Radio Traffic Only (RTO)
When a dispatcher, police unit or other person enters the FD Radio to advise of a call, break all conversations. Then permit the caller to proceed.
Gathering Call Information
Gather the nature (situation) and location of the reported emergency, and obtain whether the scene has been declared code 4.
NOTE: Firefighters may not enter an active scene. This means LLE or Fire Marshal's must have resolved any threats. If a scene is unsafe, all apparatuses must retreat to a safe distance.
